The Outhouse

(Cyberpunk 2077 Location Prototype)

The Outhouse is a personal project I developed with the goal of creating a location that exists in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. More specifically, I set out to create a location that the player could go to to meet NPCs such as Fixers, with the potential for missions to take place there as well.

Key Points:​

  • Cyberpunk 2077 Location.

  • Based on the outskirts of the Municipal Landfill outside Night City.

  • Underground nightclub accessible through a suspicious outhouse door.

  • Experimented and taught myself how to use Event Blueprints in UE4 throughout development.

  • Many opportunities for NPC mission givers to be placed in club booths, around the fight ring, or in the VIP Skybox.

Key Points:​

  • Cannot access the VIP skybox without an access card or invitation.

  • Players with high Technical Ability can unlock the door to get inside.

  • Alternatively, players with a high Body attribute can bust open vents in the bathrooms to sneak through to the catwalk and jump to the VIP skybox.

  • Players with high Intelligence can hack vending machines in bathrooms to obtain components and eddies.

Key Points:​

  • Elevator descends the player down into the nightclub, revealing the centrepiece and bar.

  • Created with UE4 Event Blueprints.

  • Slight delay on Elevator doors opening creates a greater sense of grandeur.

  • Other Blueprint events include entrance to the Outhouse opening up.
